Make Future Sustainable
Welcome to ZYZ Lab
My Research Journey
From a fascination with science and the foundational role of materials, I embarked on a journey in materials science during my bachelor's. At Imperial College London, my master's project on geopolymer binders ignited my passion for sustainable alternatives. Now, under the mentorship of renowned cement chemist Barbara Lothenbach at EMPA in Switzerland, my PhD project is focused on developing low-carbon Mg-based binders. My goal is to advance this innovative material to industrial feasibility and commercialization, contributing to a more sustainable future in construction.
Academic Experiences
As a second year PhD student
In-Depth Literature Review
I regularly read leading journals to identify research gaps and stay updated on trends on Mg-based binders.
Experimental Skills
I have 3-year experience in chemistry experiments, hydration study, mortar casting and mechnical testing.
I am well awared of safety protocols and proficient with lab equipment and data analysis tools.
Advanced Analytical Techniques
I have a solid background in material characterizations, including XRD, FTIR, TGA, NMR for solid analysis, ICP-OES, IC and TOC for liquid analysis. In addtional, optical microscopy, SEM, EDS for microsture investigation.
Project Management
I am always improving my project management skills to enable myself to run multiple projects simultaneously with efficiency.
I am proficient in employing powerful tools, such as Airtable, Trello, Obsidian, and Notion.
Publication and Dissemination
I am on the journey on writing publications both in research papers and review papers in a collaborative way.
I am engaged in publishing research, presenting at conferences, utilizing media and online platforms, to effectively disseminate my work.
Networking and Collaboration
In my second year, I am connecting and maintaining professional relationships with peers, mentors, and industry experts. Engage in collaborative research projects to gain diverse perspectives.
